Intramural Sports Style Guide

Every year, a style guide is created for the Bronco Recreational Intramural Complex (BRIC) at Cal Poly Pomona. Each department gets a unique style guide in order to showcase the events and helps keep a cohesive look for the entire school year.

Before each style guide is made, we meet with each department heads and they express their opinions from the designs of the previous year. The goal is always to create something new and fresh along with including the elements that were successful in past campaigns.

As lead designer I was tasked with the intramural sports style guide along with my co-lead designer, Lea Catbagan. Looking at the year prior, we saw that while it was creative, it detracted from the photography and action; a core piece of intramural sports. Our goal to focus on the balance and space between type and image, while creating eye-catching compositions. We looked to Swiss design and worked closely with our staff photographer and intramural sports coordinators in order to snap the most dynamic shots.
