Amboy/Roy’s Motel & Cafe

The owners of Amboy/Roy’s Motel & Cafe reached out about creating a merchandise illustration, similar to the designs created for In-N-Out. This was an easy yes, the photograph they provided was a beautiful shot and to design a shirt in the same vein as one of my favorite places to eat was a real treat.

Roy's Motel and Café is a historic site on the National Trails Highway of U.S. Route 66 in the Mojave Desert town of Amboy in San Bernardino County, California. Roy's Motel and Café is a 24-hour gas station, gift shop, and famous tourist attraction, due to its 1950s Googie-Style neon sign that can be seen for miles approaching the town.
